Help saving our planet by getting your garments fixed in stead of buying new.
Patagonia already had an offline system in place, where you can get your clothing and gear fixed, but Patagonia wanted to make this easier for their consumers.
Repair is a radical act. We created a new digital experience for garment repairs. A robust customer experience that embodies Patagonia’s (brand) vision on sustainability and carbon emission reduction.
Designing the ideal experience of the repair portal - where consumers can easily send in their repair requests. With a unique look & feel for the proposition, while staying true to the Patagonia brand.

Together with the team, we created a branded proposition for the online repair portal, with clear experience principles that follow those of the Patagonia brand. We then had multiple sessions with the client validating the concept and experience principles.
This resulted into first a low fidelity UX design which we validated with the client, and then high fidelity UX designs.
After the UX design was complete, I could then find ways to connect it with the brand values and our experience principles. This results in our north star design, as well as an MVP version for their first release. We also created a working prototype, which we used to validate our design choices and visual communication in a user test we facilitated.

As the lead visual designer on this project, I was responsible for translating Patagonia’s strong brand values into a strong, intuitive digital experience.
In the concept phase, I closely worked together with Designers and Art Directors from Patagonia. Here I could find out more about the brand values and visual communication, learn about their design system and where there was room for me to play.
After the UX phase, it was my task to connect it with the brand, and find ways to elevate the project to the next level. Besides the UI design, we had multiple sessions where we discussed ways to bring more than just a solid online flow, for example creating badges that people could 'collect' after they had their garments repaired.
The result is a complete experience that builds upon the Patagonia already strong brand and their values.
